Local Government Minister Vincent Mwale has commended Japan for its assistance to Zambia’s economic development through the various initiatives to the small and medium enterprises SMEs development, promotion of trade and investment.
Mr Mwale Zambia stand as one of the top recipients of the Japanese Official Development assistance in Sub Sahara Africa.
He said this during a reception held on Tuesday 5th December, to celebrate the 84th birthday of the Emperor of Japan, His Majesty Akihito.
“This is with recent support under JICA in notable areas such as the setting up of primary health care projects, the rural extension services capacity advancement projects and food crop diversification support projects which are among other projects helping improve the lives of Zambians all over the country”, Mr Mwale said.
He commended the Japanese government for facilitating the upgrading of Lusaka health centers to first level hospitals in Matero and Chilenje.
And Speaking Earlier Japanese Ambassador to Zambia Hidenobu Sobashima applauded government for upholding its vision 2030 aimed at becoming a prosperous meddle income country by 2030.
We admire these efforts and we would like to support Zambia to become a prosperous middle -income country,” he said.
He said his government is implementing various health projects in Zambia to contribute to a resilient Africa.
