Security concerns in Nampundwe Ward of Shibuyunji District, as a result of lack of a police post are now over, following the construction of the police post in the area. After many years of not operating, the police post has fully been renovated at the cost of Three Hundred and Sixty Two Kwacha, awaiting commissioning, thanks to the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). Area Member of Parliament, Hon. Jamba Machila has expressed satisfaction with the completion of Nampundwe Police Post. Senior Community Leader, Mr Kenneth Chikatula has also expressed gratitude to the Local Authority and Civic Leaders for heeding calls by the people on the need to beef up security by way of increasing police presence. The residents lamented that the absence of the police post exasperated and contributed to the rise in crime in the area thereby endangering both lives and property.
