Shibuyunji Town Council has handed over three important projects in the district. The projects were funded under the 2024 and 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The handover ceremony was held in Kapyanga West. Mwembeshi Member of Parliament, Hon. Jamba Machila, was the guest of honour.The projects handed over are:

– A new health centre in Lutondo, Kapyanga West, costing K1.4 million. The facility has a labour ward and a post-delivery room. It will help over 11,000 people from Kapyanga East, Kapyanga West, and nearby areas.

– A new dormitory and ablution block at Mukulaikwa Boys Boarding School, worth K997,000.

– Grants worth K2.4 million were given to 62 youths and women from all 12 wards in the district.

Hon. Machila thanked the Council for the good work.

He said the new health centre will make it easier for people to access medical care, especially pregnant women.

He also said the new school facilities will help pupils focus better on their education.

Shibuyunji District Commissioner, Mr Alfred Shaputu, and Council Chairperson, Mr Adrian Mwanakanyemba, also spoke at the event. They thanked the UPND government for increasing the CDF.

They said the fund has helped build infrastructure and support local people through empowerment programmes.

The ceremony was well attended by traditional leaders, councillors, government officials, and community members.
