Government has introduced customer care services in health facilities across Central Province to ensure patients are treated with respect, dignity, and professionalism.

This initiative highlights Government’s commitment to improving healthcare by focusing not only on treatment but also on the way patients are welcomed and supported in health facilities.

A training workshop was held in Kapiri Mposhi for Public Relations Officers and District Health Promotion Officers. Dr Evaristo Miyoba was the guest of honour.

The District Health Director officiated on behalf of the Provincial Health Director, Dr Mutoloki.

The training was facilitated by Ms. Chise Mulwanda, Provincial Health Promotion Officer, and Mr. Solomon Katambo, Administrative Officer.

It was emphasized that customer care will support, not replace, the work of health professionals.

It will help improve how patients are treated, making healthcare more responsive and compassionate.Since District Health Offices are now devolved to the Local Authorities, Public Relations and Health Promotion Officers were encouraged to work together.

Their collaboration will help address public health needs and improve communication between health facilities and communities.

Good customer service is expected to increase patient satisfaction, build trust, and strengthen confidence in the healthcare system.
