Shibuyunji District is one of Zambia’s newest administrative districts, strategically located to the west of Lusaka. Established to decentralize service delivery and promote equitable development, the district continues to grow as an important hub for governance, agriculture, and community-driven development.

The Shibuyunji Town Council serves as the principal administrative authority, mandated to oversee local governance, infrastructure development, environmental management, and the provision of social services. Guided by national development priorities, the Council works to enhance transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in all aspects of local governance.

Agriculture remains the cornerstone of the district’s economy, with the majority of residents engaged in crop production, livestock farming, and agri-business activities. The district is also endowed with cultural diversity and natural landscapes that present emerging opportunities in tourism, investment, and sustainable rural enterprise.
